Greetings to all!!!
My name is Greg Panneitz owner of Wall wise.I created Wall wise to show you how a wall can be more than just a wall.In
1992 I attended the Columbus College of Art & Design in Ohio and spent the past three years Painting Murals and Studying
the fine art of Faux Finishing.

Definitions:
Trompe l'oeil - French - "trick
the eye" - a painted finish that looks real or dimensional such as stone blocks or moldings Decorative Finish - purely decorative
finish that can be multiple layers. Generally, layering of glazes achieves more perceived depth in a painted finish,
including faux finishes.
Faux Finish - a recognizable painted/glazed
finish such as marble, leather or stone
Plaster - a textural substance that is normally troweled onto a surface Venetian Plaster - Traditionally, a multiple layer finish that is burnished to a high sheen & has a glass-like finish that remains
cool to the touch. Mineral content allows for burnishing with a trowel. Venetian Plaster is often coated with
a solvent based wax, hence encaustic waxing. Classic application or trowel techniques vary for different
looks such as Distressed Stucco Antico, Closed Stucco Lustro, Embossed Stucco Lustro.
Traditionally, Venetian plasters
were lighter & more neutral in color. The darker colors were developed more recently for the American market. Classic
applications of Venetian Plaster require that a wall have a grade 5 finish. Venetian Plaster is not an advisable finish
over imperfect walls unless repairs are made.
